How to set it up
- 1
Pick a stuffed animal your kids will recognize right away.
- 2
Loosely wrap it in toilet paper, leaving the eyes peeking out.
- 3
Pose your elf next to it holding the end of the roll, mid-wrap.
- 4
Leave a little trail of toilet paper across the floor for drama.
Too tired? 30-second version
Drape a single strip of toilet paper over your elf like a scarf and leave the roll beside it.
The toilet-paper mummy is one of the most recognized elf scenes for a reason: it’s fast, funny, and the cleanup is basically recycling.
Keep it gentle for little ones: for kids under 4, wrap a toy rather than something precious, and skip the long trail if it might cause worry.
Older kids? Have the elf leave a “ransom note” from the mummy demanding one hug before it can be unwrapped.
